here it goes..

for tis yr in dec, we will be planning a bbq session at either shuwei hse or pee chun hse... preferably sw hse cos there are more facilities? haha.. bBall~

as for nxt yr, 2010..
we will be planning house visitings for CNY again! date n time to be confirmed again~

to take a break frm the mundane n hectic life,
especially for the guys who are SERVING THE NATION :'( we will be planning oversea trips..
firstly, we are planning a trip to thailand (hopefully a 5days 4nights), the date we are currently fixing it on the 31st march to 4th april.. we chose tis date becos 2nd april is good friday n it will be an off day.. so we only have to take overseas leave for 2days, 31st march n 1st april.. anw.. please inform us if u want to go but
cannt becos of some reasons like :(army:(
the nxt trip after thailand, we will be planning a trip to bintan hopefully a 4days 3nights? the date is yet to be decided.. but roughly should be in may.. preferably around 27th to 30th may becos 28may is a holiday too! haha..

CIP - Project "Paint"

Hi all.

There had been some changes to the Project "Paint" cip.

The one on 5th july is postponed to some time in September. I reckon you guys wun wanna go if is on sep right?

I had told the in-charge and she said it is okay to go only for a day. hurray~

Anyway, the one on 26th july is still on. Interested please submit full name, IC and contact list.

paints will be supplied, all white. =X
three will be assigned to one unit, and are required to paint a kitchen, a living room and another room i forgot. =X

lunch will be provided.

attire: casual. dun need to wear too nice or it might be stained. dun wear clothes that are too tight that obstruct movement. =D

venue: chaichee. at bedok.

time: 9am to 1pm

briefing provided is compulsory. however, i dun think we can make it cos she said it will most likely fall on a weekday afternoon. she knows we have lesson so she said if most volunteers are unable to come for briefing, then it will be held on a weekend. depends.

we might be able to meet all kinds of ppl from different schools cos she said there will be alot of international school kids joinin. o.O

most importantly, tml dun come for the cip! it is cancelled.

Hey class! Just in case you do not know where the money goes to, i'll answer in this post.

Basically, our class has spent a total of $671.95 in term one. This mainy includes lecture notes, revision paper and our class-T.

This term ( term 2), we have already spent about $216.90.
( This does not incude some of the lecture notes we spent on, since i did not receive some of the receipts and so, did not add them into the amount. Im so sorry.)

If you want to know the details, you can just approach me.

Oh ya, some of the guys have not yet paid all the class fund last year. Just to be fair, I need to collect the money. ( should I name them here?)Nvm, I will approach you guys. So be prepared.=)

Those who have not paid for the recent class fund, please pay up...

One last thing, we do not have enough funds to pay for the personal portfoio, since it cost a total of $112.50 for 25 ppl. So please pay $4.50 by monday. I think the chairperson will sent you all a relay message.

Hi all, just reading through your reflections. I don't know what I can do to help you people, because to be honest, i played throughout my JC years. I don't really know what it feels like to really work for what I want, or to feel disappointed when I don't get it. I just feel that all of you are so much better than me, and most of you will achieve more than me. :)

Tang Wah: I hope we can do something to help :) You need to take better care of yourself, be conscious of how your body react to situations, like stress, lack of sleep, certain foods, etc.

En Rui: I think having friends and getting to know them better will definitely help you overcome your weakness. Afterall, relationships with people do change us. Be more proactive in that sense =)

Xun Kai: How about going to Cambodia?? LOL... I think if you have talent, just that you lack passion. Please find your passion in life!! heh.. :)

Daryl: I think for you to feel like you are living your life fully, utilitising your potential, you need more challenges in life than 'A' levels. I am not sure what you have access to now, how about picking up some knowledge on your own? philosophy? study the classics? Try to find answers to your questions in life. :)

Pee Chun: You are what you think you are, not what other people tell you or what numbers or alphabets tell you. Be open and vulnerable, and you might just find what you need :) I think you are a very interesting and fun friend to have. Just be yourself. :)

No name: If you are able to visualise the effect of your words before you flare up, it helps. Try to see the situation from the other person's point of view. its a problem everybody have, be easy on yourself, give yourself a few more years. :) We can help if you let us.

Benjamin: Sometimes its hard convince yourself to see what you want yourself to believe in, especially when you are not even sure what achieving certain things will bring to you. Find out more. =)

Yi Chuan: You have not found something you like, keep looking! You are a wonderful person! I like how i keep i have to keep telling you to tuck in your shirt but you never seem to find it irritating. I know it sounds weird, but its fun to have you around :) You should smile more too.

Samuel: Its not easy to stay committed to what you want, if its not really what u want. Have more tangible goals and be easy on yourself. :) keep the long term goals in mind while mapping the steps in front of you. Do look back to see how far you have come! :)

Mark: Your results don't say anything about you. It describes, at best, what happened during the 3 hours of paper. Ask yourself if doing well in this exam is something you really want? Please open up, we want more friends! :)

Ze Chuan: you seem a bit lost, and your plan to be proactive... is not really a plan.. more like a wish. I don't it will happen because its still not proactive. What can you do for yourself?

Yongsheng: You have very high goals for yourself! With regards to opportunites, i think there are lots in school. You have to grab it, and not let them slip you by. Ask yourself what you really want. :)

Melvin: I think you know yourself very well, its not easy to stay true though, keep it up. As for taking risks and grabbing opportunities... start small, take calculated risks! :)

Ruiping: You can be confident and yet be flexible. Know and believe in what you do or say, yet be open to others' advice. You can express yourself confidently and yet allow others to feel at ease. It can be done :) as for your dreams, its ok to have more, but know what you are working towards and what motivates you. More talks? I hope there is too .. :)

Fen Ru: You have always given me the impression that you are fiercely independent (i.e. you don't need others...) It does put some distance between you and potential friends. But its still a strength :) Maybe you can be independent in managing your own matters, yet reveal the side of you that need support and friends [i might be wrong.. if i am, pls excuse me.. ] :P

Christina: Don't forget the choice you have made!! =) I think you know your direction in life, even much more than me... no advice for you, lol ! :)

Shuqing: Don't feel too stress about achieving the material needs. Although we may not believe, its the thought and the small things, that make the relationship good. Even if you did not achieve the material needs, they will always have you! :) AND you do not have to blame yourself for anything !!

Yan Jun: Its not easy to take the path of high resistance, i think we are all like current, its prob human nature too! I hope all of us can see obstacles as challenges and face them head on with a smile, knowing that you will turn out a better person than before :)

Shirley: its funny hearing you talking about being practical, when you are probably the one with the most potential out of this class. But its ok, i understand, i chose this route too [and studied engineering!! OMG..] I did not regret it, neither will you, i believe. :) I don't feel any barrier between us, except prob for the 1st week when i first know you.. lol.. I always see this cool and cute person beneath that cool exterior, I can feel your friendliness.. don't worry about that! hehe...

Shuwei: You are already talking very little!! I know there's not enough time for everything, but you don't have to do everything. As for thinking and being a perfectionist.. it isn't really something bad.. you mean u have no REAL weakness to talk about! lol.. such a perfectionist... you just to apply appropriately. As for thinking too much, being too conscious... some people call it an illness, a suffering, so its not something everybody would like to bear. BUT i am someone who believes in it, i think it helps me live my life more fully. Its like people think, and you think about thinking, people make decisions and you think about how and why people make certain decisions. Its also a life i have chosen, then to be numb and unaware. Its painful at times, but its something i rather embrace. :)

Yi Jun: You need daily reminders, and you probably need different things to motivate you and keep your interest and motivational level high. I am really really glad that you have supportive friends and family, and you understand its work in progress :) Keep it up.

Lin Ruey: To have good relationship is not to endure, that's what i think. To have a relationship where you have to endure... is like having a partnership. To have a real relationship is to allow [not endure] and you shouldn't feel like its a pain..

Sijin: Your life is like the 10K i gave you. There's a limit. Although now you do not have limits yet, but invest your time wisely. =) as for relationships, not everything has to be resolved and apologies are not needed all the time. Just agree to disagree :) I think you are very committed and responsible already, probably not in all areas, but that's only human! If you are finding that you have difficulties staying committed to certain things, you probably lack the passion for that area. And its a vicious cycle if you are going to blame yourself for the lack of commitment! Find your passion, develop it, invent it do whatever you can, but don't every feel like its your fault, if it is then all of us are at fault, because we can't be committed about everything.

I see that friendship is one of most important thing to you people now.. rightly so. I think some of us are not willing to open up, or feel vulnerable doing so. yet we crave closeness, isn't it contradictory? Why do friends we make in teenage years become friends for life? because we are most vulnerable then! Do not be too fast to put up a front, there's no need to make any impression, just be yourself, people will love you for who you are. And if they do really find you intolerable, they will tell you, thats another way of showing love, isn't it??

Another area of importance is probably studies and future. My only advice is that.. it will come. don't worry. Either you fight for what you want, or you make sure you end up in a position where you have the power to make choices. If you lack motivation everyday.. get people around you to help, I can help!! =)

Exams are coming... just want to share with you people some stuff i found on the net.
Its about stress and worry management and i find it quite good and it helps us to live longer lol.

a dedicated space for CTs and their class committees and to showcase learning points from civics lessons, the Patio has been designed to foster quality time and interactions between all pioneers. the theme" character is destiny" reflects the importance that relationships play in shaping our characters, values and outlook to life. the wall will showcase winning designs of students who are able to provide a thoughtful and artistic interpretation to the theme. be it doodles, comic-strips, prose or poetry, the wall serves as deep reminder to all pioneers that quality time and our friendships with each other and the ties forgued with teachers go a long way in helping us grow and mature as individuals, blessed by the time spend in college.

short summary of the above: we need to design something related to character is destiny

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
1 sketches in A3 size(drawing block size)
2 initial drafts in black or gray scale( as the base colour of the wall is jetblack winning entries would eventually have to be embossed/painted in while. applicants may submit their entries using black paper for better effect.
3 only english allowed
4 artist full names must be in design. A pseudonym (with class title) may be used when winning entries are finally embossed on the wall<---- pseudo first order rxn
5 designs can be anything
6 bring own set of paint brushes

I see that this blogs' rather dull recently so gonna add smth, just to attract more of u muggers out there to come and see... Before anything, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHUQING!!!

I'll be listing out stuffs about homework/assignments thats to be done for the week. This list will usually appear during the weekends so just use it to check if u've done most of your hw.

GP: Essay (from the long list of qns, due on Friday), "The newsweek issue gievn out was the wrong issue so no posting is to be done... it will be done on monday when the correct newsweek is given out"(this small part is edited by sijin XD, plz correct if wrong, so shuwei u r wrong to me =P)

Yeah... I know, i know, LOTS of stuff to do (bo bian, who ask u choose JC, HAH!) I recommend prioritizing em? Here're some advice: It's always easier to finish simple tasks like the practical ws 1st? Tutorial Qns, just do as much as possible? For those essay and econs papers, choose a 2-3hr time slow to complete em! Got extra time jus do revision esp for organic chem.

If there's anything that i missed out/mistakes (I think there will be...), please DO edit yourself or inform me... As this list is only for reference, I shall NOT be responsible if you get into trouble because of the information provided above. Please DO NOT use this post as an excuse for not doing HW (eg. this hw not metioned on the blog leh, so i nv do lo)<--- I'll strangle u for this!

CNY Deco!!

Hi all, its me again, i will try to keep it short.. ('try' is the key word..)

Im sure u pple noticed some difference in the classroom since starting of this year. .. Its the Chinese New YEar Deco!! :) erm.. We will keeping some of the stuffs for the year, so its not strictly CNY deco ..

I find the classroom now stamped with our class's identity over it. Everybody played a part in making it our classroom. But I would like to mention some special people who put in special effort in making the classroom look fantastic:

Firstly, Pee Chun, our Project Manager for CNY deco, he contributed a lot of ideas, stayed behind many days to complete the deco. He also had to do a lot of 'shopping' out of school time to get the materials needed. *claps*

Next, there's a group of people who assisted actively and contributed ideas, they also stayed behind to help out *claps*(in no particular order) :

1) Shir (she did the painting of clouds, no she din do the ugly sun, its done by me)

Hi all, I have a feeling this is going to be a long post :P. I got the rights from Xunkai, for those who strongly feel that I shouldn't be given the rights(like im infringing on students privacy or stuffs... tell that to Xunkai!lol) IN CASE you did not notice, this is leesiah here.

Today got some complaints about some of you, I shall deal with it when i get a chance to catch the few monkeys.

MORE IMPORTANTLY... I got heaps of praises about you people, from 3 different teachers, about your performance on Sunday. Heard about JJC also.. lol..

First mention: very neat attire, turned up in ties and turned up on time! :P Im so proud!! (I think even though some of you still prefer having more 'stylish' hair, tucked out shirt and ties that hang like 1 inch below the first button, you actually know what is appropriate when you are required to look neat.

2nd mention: you did not complain of the heat and kept the tie on even though others were wearing polos. Heard that you were all wet with sweat .. :) cool.. i mean.. erm.. the fact tt you were sweating so much and carried on working hard.. nice one..

3rd mention: Great work attitude, worked non-stop, really helped the elderly with their stuffs. show lots of consideration !! :)

4th mention: 2 girls actually took the bus to follow the elderly home... hmm..

5th mention: Great conversationalists! hmm heard that some of you are good at talking to the elderly and keeping them entertained.. that's cool.. i think my grandma's lonely, any volunteers?!

I asked for any special mentions, the reply is the same.. ALL of you were fantastic!

I know you didn't get to cheer a lot yesterday (unlike.... ) so give yourself a pat on your back, cheer if you want, your efforts were really appreciated and most importantly, you made a difference on their lives..

Sorry for the delay, the time table is out! Erhm, those who wanna go for consultation can refer to this time table. It is based on the ST's time table, their free time and break slots. I cant 100% guarantee they are free during these times coz some may be having lunch or seeing other students. Oh ya, weds is meeting day for teachers... so some of them might not be around.

it is on cip. Remember the last time i mention there is a cip and a go-kart thingy? okay. in case you forget, i shall repeat it here cos there's a slight change and the in-charge ask if we still wans it.

Before the change:
Skipping the background and stuff for this cip (i don't think you all wanna know =.=)

We will be going to 140 needy families in Choa Chu Kang neighbourhood to do an outreach programe.
By delivering goody bags to them, in a way, we are giving them a new year gift at the same time understand some of their problems.

Not to scare you, but the goody bags consists of basic necessities like 10kg of rice, 20 packets of instant noodles, can drinks and some batteries.

We will be divided into groups of 5. Each group will visit 4-5 families and will spent around 15 mins in each family.

Amongst the 140 families, only 50 families will be asked what kind of assisstance they need and there are two:
-Financial Assistance: gives them money
-Physical Assisstance: help them depends on what they need (e.g. painting, cleaning, etc)

Initially, the days involved are: 26 Jan, 27 Jan, 2 Feb and 3 Feb
26 and 27 Jan at 4pm, we will be doing packing of goody bags. Leave at 6pm and visit the families. Finish at 9pm
- some groups will be picked to ask the families if the families want financial or physical assisstance
2 Feb morning, we will be doing physical assisstance. then around noon leave.
3 Feb: Volunteers Appreciation Day - get to play Go-Karts on the main road of Choa Chu Kang (some roads will be blocked) there will also be a carnival and we'll eat dinner together (can do class bonding together??)

However, there's some slight changes. The whole cip will only be done on this and next sat, 26 Jan and 2 Feb. The 3rd of Feb is Volunteer Appreciation Day, it is optional. 27 Jan is cancelled. But 26 Jan's and 2 Feb's time is changed. It will be from 8am to 4pm. It will be a whole day activity.

I understand there are tests in week 5, but it is quite difficult to find cips in the march holidays so my suggestion is to go. Furthermore. it helps the class to bond right? =p

Hi people,

Good News! I went to order our class t-shirt already. Hopefully it will be done by next week. Please prepare $30 to pay class fund on MONDAY. (The total cost for 27 pieces is $702) Each shirt cost $26. The remaining money will go to the class fund.

FYI, i only paid a $100 deposit for our orders. I still have to transfer another $200 for the deposit by Monday (means the actual deposit is $300, but i didn't have enough money to pay, so can only pay $100).

So people, please help me by bringing the $30 on Monday.

I hope that our class t-shirt will look nice. If you say its ugly i'm going to bite your head off. So, say it looks nice even if it is ugly.

I have spoken to Ms Usha, and she said that the Agape project on Sunday 27th is VERY IMPORTANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because , there will be visitors coming down to our school and also Ministers..... Hence its essential to leave a good image to others and not screw up our own name.

The project is mainly serving Senior Citizens.

The basic requirement of us :
1. Well groomed ( no long hair like pee's)
2.Wear a Tie
3.Good manners
4.Well behaved and Mature
5.Treat the senior citizens like precious treasure as if they will be gone tomorrow ( said by Usha)
6.Do not chat among ourselves like irresponsible kids
7.Be responsible

And many more... Ms Usha will be speaking to our class personally tomorrow After morning assembly for more info and to see if we are worthy to take this project.

There will be a game of "Angel and Mortal" played on thursday which will last for 3 school days but may be extended... this is to induce class bonding... i cant really explain the game here, so for those who do not know how the game works, u can find out from me, shuqing, andrew, christina, daryl or shuwei... the game will only require a bit of time after school for us to sort things out and u will be free to go so dun wry... any other qns u can also go to the same 6 people... and lastly i really hope we can get bonded real soon because theres not much time left and intensive studying is starting real soon, by den there will be less bonding activities coz study is more impt, so every1 plz cooperate, thx =)

erm FYI there's onli 2 CD and shir is somewhat busy wif the class-tee. i dunno abt sam... but i guess i will leave him in charge(?).

Hihi all. To whoever that is planning to design the class logo, pls try to finish it asap(by next ct lesson?) as tis year is a pretty short year for us, so i would like the class tee to be made asap, if nt it will b pretty pointless to have one. N good job ben in making tis blog n others who made tis blog very usefully by posting class related event n other stuff here =D hope tat more will participate in the discussion of class event n other related stuff =)
btw guys how abt the idea of having class lunch at sakae(NT THE ONE IN SCHOOL)? lol

I suggested:

volunteering in food distribution but cant seems to find any organisation that is doing that during the march holidays.
help in salvation army. maybe help collect some don't want clothes or newspaper or what.

Shuwei suggested:

Balloon sculpturing preferably at orphanage or some homes
Volunteer to cheer some kids like balloon sculpturing, magic performance, etc.

Hellow, samuel here. As you all know, the class is in the process of designing its own class t-shirt ! ( applause) Hence what is a class t shirt without a class LOGO right?
We are looking for designs to the class logo, the requirements are
1) it must look like a logo
2) it must show our class 07S22
3) it may have 2-3 colours
How do we decide the winner? well submitted attempts will be voted by the class and whoever's design gets the most vote, wins! wins what leh? WINS A FREE CLASS T SHIRT WITH YOUR LOGO ON IT! you may submit more then one attempt to the creative team ( me and shirley) , do not give spam or shit

Wa so fast got ppl wan to try to impose as me le, this makes me feel really egoistic wahaha. but i would really encourage transparency in this blog, so please make an effort to state who you are in your post. Tagboard with nicknames are ok but i hope people who post can use their REAL INHERITED names/ sirnames. This is to avoid confusion. For example some people thought i was equinox and i was like what the heck is happening. btw equinox had a spelling error, its intrigue not intrgue. u suck imposter !hahas, just joking.

Hey 07S22!!!

1st of all Happy birthday to this blog! Thanks to creator Ben Fun!

2nd, i hope it'll be a fun 2008 coz if u haven realised, this may be the last year that u'll b havin a 'class system' in school. So, lets make memories and times spent in 07s22 the best and enjoyable!

3rd, A levels is so called the hardest exam for any student in SG... that also explains why getting inside local U is difficult but after getting in is easy all the way. Anyway, work hard and also gd luck for the A's. Actually, more hard work than depend on luck, keep it real!

4th, jus to remind that as part of the class, lets b active, play a part and contribute! Every event and activity organized is impossible without your enthusiasm and participation. Hope that the strong class spirit never end.

5th, if you have anything that u're unhappy with: me, exco or any teachers, do feedback to me, Daryl or the welfare peeps. We hope to keep the class running smoothly and make sure every1 live with no frowns in school till graduation!

Lastly, thank you Ms Ng for coaching and spending time with our class since the start of PW. You really helped alot and we are glad that you've become our CT! Banzaii!
